David Mitchell (Founder/Managing Director) has spent 15 years working with universities, colleges and schools in various regions – East Asia, Russia, Middle East, USA, Europe and Turkey. Between 2005 and 2009 David led Study Group Sales & Marketing in South Europe and the Middle East, establishing a Regional Office in Istanbul in 2008 on the back of continual sales growth to a value of £7m. The increase in business across the portfolio of Study Group programmes established the company as a leader in the region. He left Study Group in 2009 to establish his own UK-based company, Levant Education Consulting, assisting international education institutions and companies with market entry and agent-network building strategies. In 2010 Levant Education launched the UK Education Tour, with Studybritish.com providing online marketing support. In 2012 Levant Education Study Abroad was established to work with school and university partners as a recruitment agency, due to popular demand for recruitment service; at the same time the academic and vocational training section was launched in Istanbul.
Roger McMahon (Senior Strategic Consultant) (Eternal) had 30 years Director-level experience in international education, with an unrivalled track record and networks in Central Asia in particular. With a career spent in Recruitment & Marketing with Study Group and Kings Education, Roger invested in and advised multiple education projects and was involved in charities supporting those with learning disabilities. His legacy lives on.
Banu Mitchell (Recruitment Director) has over 10 years experience in international student recruitment and admissions, having been a key education counsellor for Turkey’s biggest agencies. Since 2013 Banu has been Director of Recruitment for Levant Education’s agency division, helping it to be nominated for a STM STAR award (New Agency) in its first year. Banu coordinates our network of counsellors and country managers in the region, and is a Visa Application genius.
Susan Garbiso M.Ed. (Teaching Supervisor) joined Levant Education in 2017 with a strong background in TESOL and developing both business people and young learners. Susan oversees our language training operations, ensuring we keep the focus on quality, outcomes and service.
Xayala Pashayeva (Office Manager AZ) began working with Levant Education assisting with exhibitions in Baku, and has a background in education management and marketing. A graduate of Warwick University School of Education, she ensures we are meeting the needs of globe-trotting students in Azerbaijan.
Abdel Sbai, Mike Fussberg and Asli Bozyigit provide language coaching to our corporate clients in Turkey.
Didem Gurpinar supports our team in Istanbul, in particular marketing support and study abroad administration.
