UK Education Tour returned to Baku on October 25 and 26 with visits and an exhibition dedicated to UK education. After a successful ground-breaking event in 2012, the bigger challenge this year was due to confusion caused by the decision by the British Council to launch a competing event dedicated to UK education.
Despite the competiton from the government agency, and the confusion in the market it created, UK Education Tour was once again a fantastic event for both the universities and the students, and also for local VIP’s and UK alumni who enjoyed a Reception hosted by the incoming British Ambassador Irfan Siddiq.
In a busy schedule, exhibitors also visited British Oxford School in Baku; and later met with officials from the Ministry of Education (International Cooperation) for an enlightening dicscussion about the Azerbaijan government’s scholarship programme.
The exhibition itself took place on Saturday, with more than 300 UK-focussed students keeping the exhibitors busy until the final bell. Reaction from the students and the exhibitors was universally positive, and we look forward to returning to Baku in Spring 2014!
